Karen obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Maryland in 1974 and a Master's of Science in Nursing degree in high-risk Perinatal Nursing and Women's Health from the University of Utah in 1986. She is licensed in Washington State as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.
